PASTOR TERRY SIMPKINS is a native of Huntington, W.Va., and began his pastorate at Greenbrier Valley Nazarene in January 2021, coming from Festus, Missouri, where he had pastored the Nazarene congregation there for 21 years. He has served in a number of other locations as well. Terry is a graduate of Marshall University (Huntington, W.Va.), Nazarene Bible College (Colorado Springs), and Nazarene Theological Seminary (Kansas City). Terry's wife, Becky, pictured here with him, is a native of Coal Grove, Ohio (just a few miles downriver from Huntington) and teaches at New River Community and Technical College in Lewisburg. She also plays piano for our worship services.
MICHAEL ATKINSON directs our Nazarene Discipleship International ministries (Christian education) at GV Nazarene and teaches our adult Bible study class, which meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the board room. He also heads up our Compassionate Ministries department, overseeing the work of our food pantry, crisis care kits, community outreach efforts, and more. He is a native of Lewisburg and Greenbrier East High School graduate who lived most of his adult life in other locations while in military service--but moved back to his beloved Greenbrier Valley in recent years.
SUSAN NUTTER is our bookkeeper at GV Nazarene, keeping track of our many financial accounts, budgets, insurance, and all things monetary for our busy congregation. She is adept at keeping our accounts balanced, assuring that our bills are paid, and answering any questions about our finances. She and her husband, Paul, live in the White Sulphur Springs area.
JASON KOEHN serves as our director of Nazarene Youth International (NYI), the youth ministry and outreach of our church. In nurturing relationships with youth within and outside and church fellowship, he works to bring young people into a relationship wtih Jesus Christ and into the life of our local church family. Jason is also busily involved in ministerial studies with the Church of the Nazarene with the goal of becoming an ordained elder in our denomination. He was born in South Korea and grew up in Benton, Arkansas. He and his wife, Cinthia, live in Lewisburg with their young son, Samuel.
